Hon Trumpeter James Smith [Badgie] and father J. Shepard John Rees
Note :[When James was born he was added to the Nominal roll of 240 Bde R.F.A [TF] 1914-1919 as Hon Trumpeter James Smith]
The trumpeter having learned the calls parrot fashion from the Trumpet Major was dubbed a "Badgie" which has no relationship to the crossed trumpets badge he wore on his sleeve, but was derived from the Hindustani "Baja Wallah" [Music Nan]
